Although the original manufacturer of the Aeronca Champion sold his business, his successor, Champion Aircraft Corp., produced many of these well-known personal planes. Aeroncas have been a common sight at American airports for many years, competing with Piper Cubs for popularity. Guillow's scale model of the Champion 85 was developed to faithfully replicate the many fine features of this aircraft.
