The Grumman F8F Bearcat is a piston-engined, single-seat US fighter aircraft of all-metal construction from the 1940s, which was commissioned during the Second World War but never made it beyond the prototype stage and was therefore never used in combat. Equipped with four 12.7 mm calibre machine guns in the wings, the Bearcat was used by the French and Thai armed forces for a short time after 1945. Thanks to its enormous top speed, the well-known Rare Bear - a modification of the F8F-2 - continues to be used as a racing aircraft and holds the record for piston-engined aircraft on a 3-km course at a limited flight altitude with 850.24 km/h.

The Rare Bear Amewi Edition is a scale replica of the well-known Reno Racer with the original paintwork of the racing aeroplane and combines perfect flight characteristics (6G for beginners, 3D for advanced pilots) with state-of-the-art technology. The model is controlled via all axes (aileron, elevator, rudder, motor) and is self-stabilising (gyro) in 6G mode. This stabilisation prevents the aircraft from stalling and only allows a limited angle, so that loops, rolls or inverted flight are not possible in this setting. However, if the high-quality 2.4 GHz transmitter is used to switch to 3D mode, it is also suitable for dynamic aerobatics. All the standard manoeuvres described are then possible without any problems. Should something go wrong in the air, the P-40 can be switched back to 6G mode at the touch of a button and immediately resumes a stable flight attitude (rescue function). In addition to these features, the model is equipped with a receiver board that allows operation with e.g. Futaba or other 5V S-Bus receivers as well as DSM receivers with a 3V output. This means that the model is not dependent on the remote control supplied, but can alternatively also be used with an existing transmitter.

Highlights:
- Receiver board with 5V output for S-Bus receiver and 3V output for DSM receiver
- Elegant paintwork in Reno Racer design
- 6G and 3D mode switchable on the transmitter for beginners and advanced users
