Kavan GAMA 2100 - RTF M1 4ch 2.4GHz brushless

Item no.: 690122-1
EAN: 8595241353999

At first sight the new GAMA 2100 follows our successful and very popular ALPHA 1500. Apart from the increase in dimensions (wingspan 2100 mm) it has undergone basic new construction of EPP foam with stiffeners made of carbon tubes. The control functions (aileron, rudder, elevator and motor control) have been supplemented by the control of flaps. GAMA 2100 is therefore an excellent training model for novice pilots - it is large and easy to recognise in the air, it is stable and has perfect gliding characteristics - just as it is suitable as a model for relaxed flying, which you can further perfect. Without great additional costs you will get to know flying with a glider with all controllable functions.

Of course, the proven advantages of Alpha remain: wing with large wing area, controllable ailerons, rudder and tailplane, powerful brushless motor. Robust and at the same time very light - the construction from EPP foam with carbon stiffeners ensures excellent resistance to damage in the event of an accident or at least very easy reparability if damage occurs. The motor is powered by a lightweight Li-po battery with a large capacity. The model is controlled by the 5-channel version of the proven RC set CADET 4 2.4 GHz FHSS, which ensures great resistance to interference and enables additional connection of the flaps. Certainly there are no worries with plug-in crystals and free/occupied channels...

GAMA 2100 is a powerful motor glider made of highly resistant extruded polypropylene EPP, powered by a brushless motor. The fuselage is made of the EPP foam and has a mounted motor (with rotation jacket, C2835, 1000 rpm per volt), speed controller 25 A, servos, rudder and tailplane. A carbon tube forms the stable backbone of the fuselage. The canopy is removable with magnetic fasteners. The speed controller is easily programmable using the transmitter, and can be powered by Li-po, LiFe and NiCd/NiMH batteries; most importantly, it has a powerful built-in SBEC receiver power supply, which enables the on-board electronics to be powered by up to 6 servos - thanks to which the addition of a further two servos for flaps is very easy. The propeller is foldable, with a turbo cone with an opening for cooling air. To cool the motor, speed controller and batteries, additional air supplies help on the sides of the fuselage in the space under the wing.

The two-part wing with the proven sail profile is also foamed from EPP, ailerons (stiffened with carbon construction) are controlled with 2 servos connected in the wing with short linkages. The wing halves are plugged together with two carbon tube connectors. Plastic clips attached to connectors prevent loosening of the wing halves during flight. Flaps (stiffened with carbon construction) and shafts for their servos are already provided in the wing - it is sufficient only to cut the gaps on both short sides and mount servos - servo horns and levers with linkages are part of the accessories supplied with the model. The tuning set of flaps for GAMA 2100 is offered as a separate accessory.

Tails in classic arrangement are foamed from EPP and are hinged with the help of Bowden cables. The tailplane is again stiffened with carbon construction.

To prepare for the first flight it is necessary to glue the tailplane (with medium liquid super glue), attach the wing halves, switch on the receiver and connect the drive accumulator. The model is controlled with ailerons, rudder, elevator and motor control.

The 5-channel transmitter CADET 4+1 2.4GHz FHSS (system with frequency hopping) with sticks in mode 1 (throttle right), trim and reverse switches for all channels is used to control the model. Compared to the 4-channel version, it has a fifth channel with two-way switch, which you can use for the flaps, for example. It is also equipped with a charging socket for charging the transmitter battery (suitable chargers are Hitec CG-22, CG-S32). To power the transmitter you will need 4 AA alkaline battery mignon cells or rechargeable batteries (they are not part of the RC set). If you do not like to hold the transmitter in your hands, you can supplement it with the Hitec transmitter harness (#8311) or place it in the console for Optic 6 transmitter (it is enough to cover the free space with foam).

Similarly as in the case of other sets from us, it is possible to use RC equipment later in other models of the same category.

GAMA 2100 is suitable for novice pilots - we always recommend - to make the first take-offs under the supervision of an experienced pilot and enjoy a relaxing time of model flying. The flight characteristics are pleasant, the control of the model precise. The model introduces you to full control of the model around all three axes by controlling the rudder, ailerons and tailplane. This experience is useful when you start flying your first acro model or an even larger glider. By changing the length ratios of the servo and rudder levers, you can adjust the rudder deflections. The novice pilot starts with small and safe deflections; the experienced pilot sets large deflections that also allow a bit of basic acrobatics - loops, barrel rolls, turns Gama manages very well and easily with the help of the motor! The power of the motor is sufficient even for a very steep climb with approx. 30 - 40 degrees inclination, so that the climb to sufficient altitude for suitable thermals is not long! GAMA 2100 reacts sensitively even to weak thermals, thanks to the precise control around all axes it flies perfectly even in tight thermals. And with the flaps it flies even better!

GAMA 2100 is delivered with Li-po accumulator 11,1 V 1500 mAh, which corresponds to the standard folding propeller 10x7". The model carries 3-cell lipo packs up to capacity cca. 3300 mAh without any problems, sets 1800-2700 mAh are optimal.

The RC set includes: Fuselage foamed from EPP with mounted brushless motor, folding propeller 10x7", speed controller 25A, 6-channel receiver 2.4GHz FHSS and 2 servos, wings foamed from EPP with 2 installed servos, tailplane from EPP, 2 carbon tube wing connectors, 5-channel transmitter CADET 4+1 2. 4GHz FHSS with controllers in mode 1, drive battery Li-po 11,1 V 1500 mAh, 12 V quick charger, accessories for operating the flaps and detailed instructions for building and flying.

Note: Charger for the drive battery

In some RTF sets GAMA 2100 you can find the charger for drive batteries, which has the same function as the charger in the printed instructions, but different light signals of the operating modes. After connecting the charger to the 12 V power supply, the LED lights up green. As soon as you connect the drive battery, the LED lights up red. If the accumulator is not charged, the LED flashes red after approx. 5 seconds and the charger starts charging. When the maximum voltage is reached at the end of the initial power supply phase, the LED starts flashing green. As soon as charging is finished, the LED lights up green continuously. Then disconnect the battery from the charger and the charger from the power supply. When you connect the charged battery, the LED lights continuously red - in this case you can disconnect the battery and fly.
