At 2,050 mm, the Espresso is the smallest of the popular trio consisting of the Espresso, Cappuccino, and Macchiato, but it still packs a punch in terms of performance. It excels with its agile handling on the slope and quick turns in thermals. With its 4-flap wings, it’s agile enough for all flight conditions, allowing you to glide along the slope at speeds ranging from slow to very fast. Of course, with the butterfly position engaged, you’ll enjoy optimal landing performance for smaller landing areas. Another plus: thanks to its great packed length of 1.2 m, it’s ideal for vacations and fits in any car trunk.
The Espresso was designed as a glider but can be converted into an electric glider with minimal effort.
This Espresso is already equipped with a small motor; for example, a Kira 480, Hacker B40 with a gearbox, or Plettenberg Mosquito with a gearbox serves as suitable motorization or a quick climb aid—anything up to a Hotliner is possible. However, due to the 8-mm splices (carbon), DS flying should be avoided; the splices can, however, be replaced on your own with 8-mm steel for added rigidity.
Transport: The split wings allow for a very compact pack size: length 120 cm, width 30 cm, height 8 cm.
